Break from our break!

We need a break to recover from our Thanksgiving break!!!  :)  As soon as we got off of work on Tuesday, Billy, Caroline and I loaded up and made the trip to Dallas to pick up C's new back brace.  In the past, we have used a company in Houston, but on our last trip to Scottish Rite, they decided that a different vest would be good.  The new vest has an open hole for C's tummy to make breathing and eating a little easier.  Now her little pot belly can stick our as much as she wants!  While we were there she enjoyed watching the fish and even got to model her new brace for the photographers at SR so that they can show pictures of this brace to other candidates.  The man who made the brace did not have the same vision of pics as we do... he didn't care if her bow matched her brace or if she was smiling at the camera... UGH!  He was way more worried about his creation than our DIVA posing!  LOL!  We came home from Dallas and went straight to WC to spend Thanksgiving with both of our families.  Caroline got to play with ALL of her cousins.  It is so rare for us to all be home at the same time.  On Friday, Billy and I were even able to sneak off to New Braunfels with good friends to enjoy an adult get away!  We are definitely getting older and need a little more time to recover from some good ole' fun that we used to!  Ha!  Thanks to Nana B and Paw-paw for keeping C all weekend and to Nanny and Poptart for entertaining her all day Sunday.  She is the luckiest girl in the world to have such great Grandparents!

We have decided to go back to Richmond Bone and Joint for our next appointment to see if they have any suggestions for helping with C's scoliosis.  The Dr. there is the one that made the initial diagnosis of infantile scoliosis, and I must say that I was not quite ready to hear of the information that he gave us.  He was very factual, and in hindsight I can see that everything that he told us was pretty much on target.  He just happened to be the unlucky one that had to be the bearer of bad news to a set of new parents who have always wanted what everyone wants... a healthy baby.  Over the past month, Caroline has started seeing 2 new therapists that come to our house to work with her.  Saying they are phenomenal is an understatement.  They have given baby boot camp a whole new meaning!  :)  Needless to say, we are very impressed and feel extremely lucky to have been blessed enough to meet such great people to help in Caroline's care.  They both recommended that we give our original Dr. another chance.  They have both taken their own children to see him and speak very highly of him.  Given the information we currently have, I feel like this is a good choice for us.  The drive to Dallas is very hard on Caroline and the Dr. that we see there has not been able to give many answers.  Caroline is a special case, and I believe that change is not always a bad thing.  It provides us with more views... and with more views comes the opportunity for more answers!  I am very hopeful that all of our hard work and therapy and countless hours in a back brace will slow down or stop the progression of her crooked little spine.
