The History of the Lovebug!

Billy and I are almost six months into this whole parenthood thing, and I am finally getting around to starting a blog!  Being a parent is the most amazing thing that has ever happened to both of us.  God blessed us with Sweet Baby Caroline on 2/5/2011 and she has had us wrapped around her little finger ever since!  When Caroline was born, she was diagnosed with a rare skin disorder called Ichthyosis.  She lost lots of fluids through her skin in her first few days, and had to be transported from the small hospital in Katy to the Children's Memorial Herman Downtown where they had a NICU that could support her needs.  We stayed in the NICU for a little over 2 weeks and then we finally got to come home!  Those 2 weeks felt like an eternity!  Little Lovebug had lots of trouble eating, and when she was about 3 months old, we found out that she had some tissue in her throat that made it hard to swallow.  She had surgery to remove the tissue, and is continuing to improve her eating!  :)  Poor Little C has had a rough start, and we recently hit another bump in the road.  I noticed that there was a bit of a bump on her back, and after having X-rays, we found that she has Infantile Scoliosis.  Most people don't find that they have scoliosis until they are in their teens.  We will be going back to the Orthopedic in 4 months to see if the curve is getting worse, staying the same, or getting better.  I am hoping that it is getting better!!!  :)  Since our little lovebug has had so many issues, we have decided to undergo genetics testing to make sure there isn't a bigger issue.  In the next couple of months, Caroline will have an MRI of her brain and spine, a skeletal exam, bloodwork, a visit to the eye doctor, an ultrasound of her heart, and will start physical therapy.  Please say lots of prayers that we can get some answers, and that Lovebug will be catching up with all of her little friends in no time!
